The historical and cultural landscape of Tranby has been vital to its economy, place identity, and social memory, serving as a key inspiration for our project.

The farms, representing the original settlement patterns from the early days of food production in the valley, have long been central to Tranby´s landscape. Over the years, they have been expanded and modernized. Recently, Lier has repurposed these farms for psychiatric use, turning them into therapeutic and care facilities.

This approach to addressing social challenges within the production landscape has proven effective.

This project explores how these farms can further foster new social hubs, enhancing social sustainability in the community. And to connect them all, activating the landscape with paths and small interventions for safe passage along the fields.

We have emphasised not to disturb the existing qualities in the landscape space and have instead focused on how these inventions can help to highlight the spatial experiences that arise.
