The project envisions relocating the NRK media house to Tøyen, focusing on creating a vibrant connection between the local community and the media institution.

It explores the mutual impact of NRK on Tøyen and vice versa, aiming to meet local needs while leveraging NRK’s social capacity to engage with the public. The project prioritizes creating accessible, attractive spaces for younger generations and enhancing public spaces like the park, while avoiding privatization.

The new NRK building is designed to be flexible. With a media industry constantly changing, the buildings adaptability ensures its relevance even if NRK’s role changes.

The remains of the old Munch Museum is included in the project and transformed back to its original character to foster a dynamic urban environment as a community building.
